The proposed development site of Kuilei Place is in Moiliili, a neighborhood just north of Waikiki. The project will lie between Kapiolani Boulevard to the north, Date Street to the west, and Mahiai Street to the East, with the 12-story residential building will be fronting Kapiolani Boulevard.

It will consist of a 400-Foot main tower, a 12-story residential structure, and a 13-story parking structure. If developed as planned, the main tower would exceed the normal zoning height limit and become the tallest tower in the neighborhood.

Current plans indicate that the Kuilei Place will contain 1,005 units. 603 of the units (60%) in the complex will be affordable units thargeting households with moderate to high-moderate incomes, with 165 becoming rental appartments.

Kuilei Place will be the newest condo project to be developed by The Kobayashi Group, joining Hokua, Park Lane, and others in Honolulu.

Current plans show that Kuilei Place will contain 1,005 units in 1-Bed to 3-Bed floor plans, with 603 (60%) using affordable pricing and 402 (40%) using market pricing. Units are planned to feature expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that offer varying stunning views of Diamond Head and the Ko'olau Mountains.

165 of the affordably priced units will be rental apartments with monthly rent estimated to be between $1,900 and $3,000.

In October 2022, the estimated prices for owner-occupant units ranged as follows:

  • Affordably-Priced: From $370,000 to $815,000
  • Market-Priced: From $700,000 to $1,150,000
