Kuilei Place is a planned condo development in the Moiliili area of Honolulu that was recently endorsed by board members of the Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation. It will be developed by Kobayashi Group on 3.2 acres of land between 'Iolani School and Kaimuki High School, currently occupied by 141 low-rise rental apartments. This project intends to bring just over a thousand units to the area, within easy reach of the best Honolulu has to offer.

Current plans for Kuilei Place include 1,005 units contained in a 400-foot tower and 12-story residential building that fronts Kapiolani Boulevard, plus a 13-story parking structure. The parking structure also plans to include storage space for over 600 bicycles. The project is primarily intended for households with moderate to high-moderate incomes, a group that doesn't qualify for low-income housing but can't always afford market-priced housing.
