Hokua Condo Tower - Luxury Condos In Honolulu
Hokua is a luxury condo tower in Honolulu that was completed in 2006. There are 248 luxury condo units in the tower, with 7 units per floor. Hokua was the first of its kind, offering luxury condos that overlook the Tennis courts at the Ala Moana Beach Park and the ocean just beyond. It also boasts a private third-floor recreation deck filled with amenities as well as two floors of commercial space. Kobayashi and MacNaughton Group collaborated in the development of this gorgeous luxury tower.
Hokua meaning in Hawaiian is “crest of the wave,” likely referencing how the design mimics a wave - with units at the ‘peak’ having gorgeous 180° ocean views. It was developed before stricter guidelines regarding protected view corridors came into play, meaning no other tower like it can be built again.

Neighborhood Features Available to Residents of Hokua
If you’re in the mood for sunbathing or playing in the golden sands, directly south of Hokua lies the Ala Moana Beach. This mile long stretch is a sanctuary from the rush of city life, just steps away from your front door. The accompanying Ala Moana Beach Park holds lush gardens, tennis courts, and other relaxing ways to enjoy the great outdoors. At the end of Ala Moana Beach is Magic Island, a man-made peninsula that’s a popular spot for picnics and other activities.

About Hokua Ala Moana
Hokue was the first luxury high-rise of its kind in Honolulu and was completed in early 2006. It is located in arguably one of the best condo tower locations, with a design that would likely not be allowed anymore due to updated development guidelines. The design of Hokua is wider than many other residential towers and runs parallel to the ocean, meaning most of the units within have views of the ocean and Ala Moana Beach Park.
Hokua was built as a collaboration between MacNaughton Group and Kobayashi Group.

Hokua - Condo Units

There are 248 units in Hokua in 2-Bed to 4-Bed floor plans, with 7 units per floor on most floors. The tower is a wide “V” shaped design, oriented in such a way that most of its 248 units have expansive ocean views. The best units are those at the corner angle of the “V” - unobstructed by any future development, they have expansive 180° ocean views.
Units in Hokua are spacious, with extra high ceilings, large layouts, and floor to ceiling windows. Most of the units have dedicated laundry rooms with side-by-side washer and dryer, with each unit also having its own water shut off.
