Kaka'ako HI Homes & Real Estate

Kaka’ako is the hip new place to live in the Urban Core of Honolulu, Hawaii, located in between Downtown Honolulu and Ala Moana. It sits right on the southern shoreline of Oahu, giving residents easy access to 100 acre Ala Moana beach park and its half mile long, golden sand beach. Within the area lies numerous residential towers, with many more residential towers in the plans to be built in the coming years.

Kakaako was once a thriving Native Hawaiian agricultural community, once home to Hawaiian royalty. Since then, it became an industrial district before moving towards a mixed commercial and residential area - but the history of the area remains. To this day, many of the buildings in neighborhoods such as Ward Village and Our Kakaako give homage to this history.

Kakaako Communities

Kakaako is made up of four distinct areas within the district - Ward Village, Our Kakaako, Kaka'ako Corridor, and Kakaako Makai (seaward)/Mauka (mountain). 

Ward Village especially is becoming a hotspot in Honolulu. Real estate developers are offering a life that balances the island life with the urban core - with pedestrian access and plenty of walking distance options. Ward Village

Ward Village is a master-planned community developed by the Howard Hughes Corporation on the border of the Kakaako area and the Ala Moana area. This pedestrian-friendly neighborhood has been designed from the ground up to bring the island lifestyle to the urban core - right next to 100 acre Ala Moana beach park. Our Kakaako

Our Kakaako is a vibrant community developed by Kamehameha Schools, south of downtown Honolulu and northwest of Ward Village. The neighborhood is aimed towards building a progressive community, encouraging the evolution of the island culture in a sustainable neighborhood. It was designed to encourage the use of walking and alternate forms of transportation, with lots of inviting green spaces and unique retail and dining experience.

Our Kakaako has housing available ranging from low-rise residences to high-rise towers.

Kakaako Corridor

The Kakaako Corridor is a strip of towers and features in the Kakaako area, between the Ward Village neighborhood to the east and Ala Moana to the West.

The towers directly on Ala Moana Boulevard are luxury front-row towers with gorgeous views over Ala Moana Beach Park and the ocean beyond.

Kakaako Mauka/Makai

This area is north of Our Kakaako and Ward Village and is generally split between Makai and Mauka by Kapiolani Boulevard.
