Mariners Ridge is located north of Hawaii Kai Drive, atop a ridge that comes off of the Koolau Mountain Range. It's location gives many of its properties incredible 180-degree views, while still offering shopping centers in easy reach - many are just a 5 minute drive away across the marina.

Split into two distinct sections, upper and lower, Mariners Ridge is a mixture of custom designs and a selection of floor plans. The upper ridge was developed after the lower section and is made up of custom designed houses intended for more affluent residents. Most homes in this neighborhood were built in the 70s and 80s and have since had renovations to incorporate modern features.
Most of the homes in this neighborhood are two story, with 3-4 bedrooms and an average of around 2000 Sq Ft. Just a five minute drive away from the city, Mariner’s Ridge is a quiet and cool neighborhood with a gorgeous view.

Beaches near Mariners Ridge are often smaller and more difficult to reach than other beaches on Oahu and often less suitable for casual swimming as well. There are often sharp rocks along the shallow bottoms - and beyond that the deeper waters around Hawaii Kai can be dangerous even for experienced swimmers. For those who know the area, there are several good surf spots.
In terms of family friendly beaches, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is just a few miles away from Mariners Ridge. This area was once one of the most popular tourist destinations on the island - but overuse of the land took its toll, leading the state to take steps to safeguard its future.
Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve is always closed to the public on Tuesdays and requires reservations to visit the park, limiting visitors to aid in the restoration of its natural beauty.
